Google Chrome
Overview
Google Chrome is an Internet web browser created by Google as an alternative program for accessing Internet web pages. Google boasts speed, simplicity, security, & more features (such as built-in translation) as reasons to use Chrome rather than other web browsers. The use of Google Chrome is completely optional and in some cases we still find that using other browsers work better on some websites (e.g., SkyDrive still works best when using Internet Explorer).
Note: LFCDS students may find that some features in the Google Chrome browser are restricted. For example, extensions are blocked from installation by default. Students may request an extension be allowed by speaking with one of their teachers, an advisor, or by directly contacting the IT Service Center.
Installing Themes
Students may install themes, but only the official ones from Google. To install themes, open the Options menu and under Personal Stuff -> Themes you will find a link called "Get themes". Open this, and choose to view themes "by Google". Alternatively, you can navigate directly to Google's themes through this link (which must be opened in Google Chrome to work).
