Known Issues
Note – Unless noted otherwise above, dial 8 when sending outgoing faxes: With the new Network Fax Server, faxes can also be received internally by dialing the 3 digit extension. Because of this it is essential that you remember to dial 8 when sending outgoing faxes from one of the school’s fax machines (with the exception of the GB-216 Upper Green Bay Workroom MFP since it no longer requires a 8 prefix to dial out). If you forget to dial 8, the fax machine will call the internal extension corresponding to the first 3 digits in the phone number including the “1” dialing code prefix. For example, if you try sending a fax to a 1-312-xxx-xxxx number without first dialing 8, you will instead send a fax to extension 131. In the past when this would happen you would receive a transmission error because the fax machine would only reach the owner of the internal extension or their voice mail, not another fax machine. However, the new fax server will now receive the fax for that extension and the sending fax machine will indicate that the fax has gone through successfully. Unfortunately, instead of reaching your intended recipient, your fax will be e-mailed to the owner of that 3 digit extension.
